Bishop Dr. TAIWO AKINOLA

"MY MASTER WORKED AND I MUST WORK THE WORKS OF HIM WHO SENT ME WHILE IT IS DAY".

A WORD FROM MY HEART

by Bishop Taiwo Akinola.

"THE SACRED MISSION OF MY LIFE IS TO PREACH THE TOTAL MESSAGE OF GOSPEL TRIUMPH ROUND THE WORLD".

PARTICIPATING IN THE END-TIME HARVEST

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned (Mark 16:15-16).

Life is an assignment and service is its real essence. For service and charity, there can be no excess. They are parts of God’s ordained purpose for the creation of every man.

Service is the heart of Christianity. It is both central and quintessential to healthy Christian living. Service is the covenant duty of all believers and it is located on the fields of mission. The earlier we come to terms with this truth, the better for our destinies upon the earth.

In Genesis 12:1-5, Abram was instructed to leave where he was at that time to go and become a witness of God’s uniqueness to people in other nations. God gave him towering promises of greatness and blessings if he would obey. Abram implicitly obeyed and he became a friend of God. Again, God by the hand of destiny led Isaac to a foreign land during a peak period of famine. He sowed and waxed great in that land in order that the glory of God might be projected throughout the nations round about him. And from the life and time of Isaac, we know that anything done for God or any efforts exerted in the interests of mission will always receive empowerment for a hundred-fold return (Gen.26:1-12). These familiar stories of Abram and Isaac were some of the earliest challenges for men to go forth as royal ambassadors of heaven on earth.

GLADSTONE HOUSE OF DREAMS

(....contd from column 2)

The peculiar constraints necessitating urgency for every believer to be involved in the art of soul-winning precipitate on the following:

  1. The inestimable value of a soul (Mk.8:34-38)
  2. The eternal damnation of unbelief (Mk.16:15-16; Rom.6:23).
  3. The grave consequences of unconcern (Eze.33:7-9).

Christian men and women are the sole appointees for the supreme and highly important task of soul-winning on earth (Lk.24:48; Ps.107:2). No wonder, it is considered a great wickedness that can attract dire consequences if we refuse to alert the unbelievers of the inherent dangers of their unbelief and project the glory of the gospel for the salvation of their souls.

Many modern day challenges dare end-time harvest of souls to its face. These include: population explosion, religious bigotry, multiplicity of wrong choices, comfort of civilization, waning faith, social demands and pressure, unfaithful believers and so on. The bottom lines of these challenges are:

  1. The harvest is plenteous (Mat.9:37).
  2. The labourers are few (Lk.10:2).
  3. Time is running out (1Jn.2:18).

Modern Christians are responsible for the modern failings we see in our world today. This generation of believers has a duty for the salvation of this generation of unbelievers. We ought to be very earnestly involved. Let us ask ourselves the question regularly: “what services am I contributing to God’s kingdom today to save a soul for whom Jesus Christ died”?

Let us give the multitude to eat of the bread of life by preaching the unrestrained Word of God (Mat.14:15). Please note that there is a time limit on our assignments to spread abroad the love of Christ. Good, strong and prime times of our lives should never be taken for granted. We should learn to take advantage of the opportunities we have now to serve God in our generation and become a succor of rest to the weary (Mat.13:31-32).

Dear friends, please consider feeling you don’t have eternity to prove a point or to run your assignments. Be in time. Look on the scoreboard and see just about how much time is left for you on the planet called earth (Ps.90:12). Serve God’s pleasure now. Please, never wait until the game is over before you attempt to seize a chance to play. At such times and for such people, the music dies in them.

May you never miss your chance of being relevant to God’s plan for the ages in Jesus Name. Amen. Labor to defend the heritage of the glory of God in the lives of fellow citizens of the earth. Rise and preach Christ to someone today. You will definitely be glad you did.
